Glen Hansard

Info

On 22 May 2026 at Albert Hall, Manchester, Glen Hansard brings a set that reaches across his path with The Frames, the songs written for Once, and the grain of his solo records. Raised in Dublin’s scene, he first made his name with The Frames before co-writing Falling Slowly with Markéta Irglová and taking those songs from an indie film to major stages. Since Rhythm and Repose, Didn’t He Ramble and This Wild Willing, his writing has shifted from folk confession to more exploratory textures. Live, he moves between quiet storytelling and rougher electric turns, shaping the night around voice, acoustic bite and the tight interplay of a band that leaves space for dynamics and detours.

Also on the bill, Courtney Marie Andrews threads folk, country and americana with plainspoken writing and a clear, steady tone. From Honest Life and May Your Kindness Remain to Old Flowers and Loose Future, her songs lean on close vocals, pedal steel shades and unfussy arrangements. On stage she keeps it direct: melodies that sit close to the mic, a slow-burn pulse, and lyrics that circle travel, doubt and the ties that keep people moving forward.
