Yonaka

Brighton outfit Yonaka brings its tight, hook-driven rock to Rock City in Nottingham on 8 October 2026. Led by vocalist Theresa Jarvis, with George Werbrouck-Edwards on guitar, Alex Crosby on bass and keys, and Robert Mason on drums, the quartet blends alternative rock with pop instinct, punk flashes and rhythms that nod to hip-hop and contemporary production. Early EPs Heavy (2017), Teach Me To Fight (2018) and Creature (2018) carried the band from mid-size rooms to festival stages in the UK and across Europe. Their debut album Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow (2019) sharpened a focus on personal themes and mental health, a thread extended on the 2021 mixtape Seize The Power, where the group opened its sound toward a more hybrid approach. With the 2023 EP Welcome To My House, Yonaka keeps that balance of direct energy, accessible structures and modern textures. Live, the band moves between tension and release, stacking dense riffs with clear, melodic vocals and percussive grooves, with sets that often span the EPs, the album and the mixtape.
