Info
Ethel Cain brings her singular storytelling pop to Cardiff Castle on 19 June 2026. The project of American singer-songwriter Hayden Silas Anhedönia, Ethel Cain sits between slow-blooming dream pop, alt-rock grit, ambient textures and a dusty hint of Americana. Early releases like Golden Age (2019) and Inbred (2021) sketched out a world preoccupied with faith, family and the Southern memoryscape, all carried by a voice placed upfront and compositions that take their time to unfold.
That universe expanded with Preacher’s Daughter (2022), a concept album steeped in Southern Gothic tones and the echoes of 90s–00s pop and rock. On stage, Ethel Cain leans into the narrative: quiet ballads stretch into guitar-scorched climaxes, minimal arrangements leave space for breath and tension, and cinematic visuals frame the songs like chapters. Expect a set that moves between intimacy and abrasion, hymnal melodies and lingering reverb, tracing the contours of her character’s world while keeping the focus firmly on the songwriting. Cardiff gets a full immersion in her stark, atmospheric live craft.
