John Grant arrives in Milan for a live show at Circolo Arci Bellezza on Friday, December 11, 2026. The American singer-songwriter, who emerged with The Czars and then established himself as a solo artist, presents a journey that merges singer-songwriter craft with electronic music, alternating piano ballads and synth pulsations. His deep voice and taste for meticulously arranged instrumentation steer a set that spans several phases: from his solo debut Queen of Denmark, recorded with Midlake, to the electronic turn of Pale Green Ghosts, and on to the dark, pop-leaning directions of Grey Tickles, Black Pressure and Love Is Magic. The setlist also includes more recent material such as Boy from Michigan and songs from The Art of the Lie, where a precise, cinematic new-wave streak returns. On stage, Grant plays with dynamics and timbres—piano and drum machine, layered synth architectures, direct lyrics, oblique irony and exposed vulnerability. His collaborations with Biggi Veira, Sinéad O’Connor, Tracey Thorn, Elbow, Susanne Sundfør and the project Creep Show form the backdrop to a live performance crafted to move between intimacy and electronic tension, unforced and focused on songwriting and presence.
