Antony Szmierek

Antony Szmierek arrives in Milan on Friday 24 April 2026 at Circolo Arci Bellezza. A British musician and songwriter based in Manchester, he presents a live project that moves between spoken word, indie pop and electronic music. His voice speaks more than it sings, with an almost-rap flow, foregrounding narrative lyrics about everyday life, city streets and intimate portraits. After beginnings in poetry and performance scenes, he drew attention with early tracks released online, culminating in the 2023 EP Poems To Dance To, which blends bare spoken-word verses, melodic choruses and soft grooves, hovering between slow house and stretched-out hip hop.

In concert, Szmierek plays with contrasts: spare arrangements that leave room for the story, beats that build without forcing, stripped-back moments alternating with fuller passages. Whether in a minimal set or with a band, the focus remains on closeness to the audience and the dynamics of the storytelling, where every fragment of text finds its breath between kick drum and synth.
