Caravan Palace

Caravan Palace will perform on 28 October 2026 at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Since the mid-2000s the Parisian outfit has been fusing jazz manouche, 1920s/’30s swing and contemporary club culture into a compact electro-swing that immediately sends people to the dance floor. Live, that comes through a vocalist, a tight rhythm section and acoustic colors layered over synths and samples. Four-on-the-floor pulses collide with shuffle grooves, manouche riffs and brass lines, while the hooks remain melodic and light.

From their early, danceable material to tracks like “Robot Face” and “Chronologic,” the set shifts between house patterns, pop and funk influences and more modern electronica, featuring processed vocals and meaty basslines. The band shapes arcs of tension with breaks and instrumental interludes, keeps the tempo flexible and leaves space for acoustic instruments to color against the beats. It’s not a nostalgia show, but an update of the swing alphabet for today—where the energy of a live band meets the precision of club production. In Groningen that mix sounds immediate and physical, focused on movement and interplay.
