Autechre x Electron Festival x Ptr

On 12 October 2026, Autechre will occupy the PTR in Geneva as part of Electron with a live set conceived as a testing ground. Since the late 1980s, Sean Booth and Rob Brown have developed a distinctive electronic grammar where algorithms, fractured rhythms and shifting textures intersect. Signed to Warp, the duo laid down milestones with Incunabula and Amber, then pushed IDM toward more abstract forms on Tri Repetae, Chiastic Slide and Confield. From NTS Sessions to SIGN and PLUS, their writing alternates harmonic pads and percussive sequences with tight micro-variations. On stage, Autechre practices immersion: the room is often plunged into darkness, the sonic dramaturgy is in constant motion, with a strong focus on material and space. In Geneva the set will favour real-time construction, unstable rhythmic systems and sculpted timbres, for focused listening rather than a sequence of familiar tracks. An opportunity at the PTR to experience the method and energy of a long-running project in British experimental electronics.
