Info
Mary Black brings the Slan Tour to Vicar Street, Dublin, on 9 May 2026. Born into a musical Dublin family, she began singing young, then found her feet in city clubs with her brothers before joining the folk group General Humbert in the late 1970s and releasing her self-titled debut in 1982. Grounded in Irish folk and ballads, her repertoire opened out over the years to include contemporary folk, country and acoustic pop, shaped in part by her long collaboration with guitarist and producer Declan Sinnott. In parallel, she joined De Dannan and toured through Europe and the U.S., anchoring her place on the Irish folk scene. Records like Collected, Without the Fanfare, By the Time It Gets Dark, No Frontiers, Babes in the Wood and The Holy Ground set the tone for later albums including Circus, Shine, Speaking with the Angel, Full Tide and Stories from the Steeples. The Slan Tour revisits songs from across that journey.
