Chalk

Chalk brings its Belfast-bred post-punk to Button Factory, Dublin, on May 15, 2026. The project unites musicians and filmmakers Ross Cullen and Benedict Goddard around a sound that splices club-leaning techno and drum’n’bass rhythms with saturated guitars and a chant-like vocal that shifts between spoken word and cold wave. The duo’s stage approach comes with a clear visual dimension shaped by their filmmaking practice.

Emerging in the early 2020s, Chalk earned its place across Ireland and the UK through small venues and support slots before moving onto international stages. The debut EP, Conditions (2023), set the tone for a dark, physical aesthetic where industrial textures meet club culture and punk energy. In 2025, the pair widened its touring across the UK and Europe and appeared at festivals including Glastonbury and Bilbao BBK Live. Their releases and audiovisual works have been regularly supported by specialist media and radio such as The Independent, NME, Rolling Stone UK, Rough Trade, BBC 6 Music and KEXP.
