Alela Diane

Alela Diane plays Chelsea in Vienna on 16 November 2026. Rooted in California’s Nevada City and raised in a family of musicians, she has carved a folk language built on voice and guitar, intimate and precise. After early self-releases, The Pirate’s Gospel spread by word of mouth in 2004 and was reissued in 2006, followed by To Be Still in 2009. She then tried a more electric, collective frame with Alela Diane & Wild Divine in 2011, before returning to a stripped, introspective writing on About Farewell in 2013. Cold Moon in 2015, a duo with guitarist-composer Ryan Francesconi, opened a more instrumental, contemporary folk parenthesis. With Cusp in 2018 and Looking Glass in 2022, she deepened a register of folk ballads touched by discreet country influences and arrangements for piano and strings, keeping a strong anchor in American songwriting.

On stage, Alela Diane often favors solo or small formations, close listening and a direct rapport with the room.
