Pisa Summer Knights 2026: Skunk Anansie

Skunk Anansie land in Piazza dei Cavalieri, Pisa, on 26 July 2026. Formed in London in 1994, the quartet brings Skin’s lead vocals out front with Ace on guitar, Cass on bass and Mark Richardson on drums, shaping a sound that cuts across alternative rock, hard rock and punk, with funk and dub in the mix. From the start, their lyrics have tackled power, identity, race, sexuality and religion with a direct tone and a clear sense of purpose.

On stage, the band plays with tension and release: Skin shifts from spoken phrasing to clean melodies and rougher edges, while the rhythm section holds a tight, heavy pulse. The set draws on the early run of Paranoid & Sunburnt, Stoosh and Post Orgasmic Chill, then moves through the comeback years with Wonderlustre, Black Traffic and Anarchytecture. After a split in 2001 and a reunion in 2009, Skunk Anansie have kept their focus on live shows and a straight-ahead rock approach. In Pisa, they bring a career-spanning performance that goes straight to the essentials.
