Rafael Antón Irisarri is an American composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer of Puerto Rican origin, based in New York. He is a key figure in ambient music, drone and contemporary classical. His work explores memory, distance and the emotional weight of places through dense textures, tape loops, bowed guitars and synthesizers. He gained recognition in the 2000s with his project The Sight Below on Ghostly International. In addition to his prolific solo career, he runs the Black Knoll studio, where he has collaborated with artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and William Basinski. His live performances are often held in unconventional spaces such as churches and museums.

Experimental electronics, Basque Country
Amsia is one of those emblematic figures of Basque experimental music that emerged and later dissolved some time ago. Named by Carlos Desastre at the Matadero de Azkoitia (Gipuzkoa) more than two decades ago, Amsia is a concise reflection of the course of a native music scene that called itself "las otras músicas" or "músicas arriesgadas" (the other musics / risky music). Yet another attempt in the search for beauty through noise and sound, in a place where tradition and folklore are part of the landscape. Solitary in nature and entirely electronic, his current work is based on MIDI orchestrations alongside synthesized sounds, vinyl records and sample libraries, resulting in a sonic collage that is chaotic and unpredictable. Music with dramatic and unsettling tones that immerses us in a disordered sonic imagination of strange beauty.
