DJ Shadow celebrates three decades of Endtroducing..... with a set devoted to the album that defined his approach to instrumental hip hop. On October 7, 2026 at History in Toronto, the Californian producer revisits the sample-built world that introduced his voice: chopped breaks, fragments of funk and soul, ambient haze and jazz undertones, all threaded through turntable craft and tight drum programming.
From his early Mo’ Wax releases to work with UNKLE and more recent projects, Shadow has pushed this collage method forward. On stage he favors narratives without a lead rapper, letting decks, samplers and loops do the talking, shifting from meditative passages to tougher rhythms without breaking the flow. Thirty years on, Endtroducing..... sits at the heart of the night, but the wider arc matters too: a tour through textures and tempos that links crate-digging, trip hop, Bay Area hip hop echoes and contemporary electronics, shaped live and in the moment.
