Playhouse pres: Gabriel & Dresden

Playhouse presents Gabriel & Dresden. Formed in San Francisco in 2001, Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden move between progressive trance, melodic house and vocal songwriting. They first made their mark with remixes for New Order, Way Out West, Sarah McLachlan, Annie Lennox and Jewel, before dropping their debut single Lament in 2002. The duo blends club structures and progressive synth lines with a darker pop tint that stays close to the dancefloor. Under the Motorcycle banner with JES, they signed As the Rush Comes in 2003, then followed with Tracking Treasure Down and Dangerous Power on their 2006 self-titled album. After a break in 2008, they reunited in 2011 and have since maintained a regular presence across clubs and festivals like Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival and Tomorrowland. Their albums The Only Road (2017) and Remedy (2020) extend that approach across labels including Organized Nature, Armada Music and Anjunabeats. On July 19, 2026 at Celebrities Nightclub in Vancouver, the pair revisits early milestones and recent cuts, balancing vocal hooks, gradual builds and melodic drive.
