Bonbon Vodou is Oriane Lacaille, from a large family of musicians from Réunion, and JereM Boucris, the son of Lacanian psychiatrists. A bittersweet confection, two voices that harmonize and awaken the ear to the pulses of a spicy rhythm. On her one-of-a-kind, hand-built mini drum kit, Oriane gets bodies moving; with a guitar fashioned from an oil drum, JereM lets his melodies be heard.
With the 'Piment Piment' lineup, all of Bonbon Vodou’s creole spirit comes to the fore. Joined by Roland Seilhès on saxophone, flute and vocals; Yann-Lou Bertrand on bass, trumpet, flute and vocals; and Juliette Minvielle on percussion, keyboards and vocals, Bonbon Vodou Piment Piment explores maloya and a mosaic of undulating rhythms drawn from music gathered at the four corners of the globe. A sung fusion in Réunion Creole and French.
