Robert Finley

Robert Finley will be at L’Oasis in Hardanges on November 28, 2026. A singer and guitarist from Bernice, Louisiana, he spent many years playing on the streets and performing with Brother Finley and the Gospel Sisters before recording his first album at 62, Age Don’t Mean a Thing (2016). His meeting with Dan Auerbach marked a new phase, leading to Goin’ Platinum (2017), the autobiographical Sharecropper’s Son (2021) and Black Bayou (2023), where he blends blues, Southern soul, rock’n’roll, jazz and folk, drawing on his Louisiana stories.

On stage, Finley favors the essentials: a deep, gravelly voice, a gripping groove, and guitars that carry the dust of the South. The songs unfold a simple, precise narrative—work, family, roads and memories—without unnecessary frills. The set moves through tracks from his four albums, from blues rooted in reality to ballads nourished by gospel, with phrasing that leaves room for silence as well as for backing vocals. People come for the grain of his voice, the slow grooves, the riffs that settle in, and his direct way of telling a life and a place through songs that hold their own.
