Calva Louise

Calva Louise will be at The Black Lab, Wasquehal, on October 23, 2026. Born on the London underground scene and led by Jess Allanic, the band brings together members from Venezuela, France and New Zealand in a British lineup with a hybrid sound. On stage, Calva Louise moves between alternative rock, post-hardcore and jittery punk, with riffs that verge on metal and electronic textures. Their songwriting shifts from catchy melodies to more abrasive passages, playing on contrasts and dynamic changes.

The trio has tightened their live show through countless club dates and international festivals, while cultivating a visual universe tied to their music. In 2023 they self-released the mixtape Over The Threshold, accompanied by videos made by the band, reinforcing this image/sound connection. Over the course of their tours, Calva Louise have shared bills with Bloodywood, Slothrust, Boston Manor, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Albert Hammond Jr., all useful reference points for locating their sonic range. In Wasquehal, expect a taut, direct set where punk urgency meets electronic textures and hooks that stick in your head.
