The Meteoro venue is going through a difficult time due to accumulated debts from fines, seizures, forced closures and various legal expenses. For this reason, they have organized this concert with bands and artists who have played at the venue over these eight years to raise funds and be able to carry on.
In this expat-ification of the city, our small local circuits—where our real life actually happens—are neither cared for nor taken into account. In recent months we have seen too many spaces close because they cannot meet the financial demands nor withstand the system’s failure to recognize their needs.
But we can pay attention at a local level. And that is precisely what Meteoro needs from us right now, at a moment when it is on the verge of closing.
