Info
On 14 August 2026 at Melkweg, Amsterdam, two South African acts stand side by side: Spoegwolf and Jack Parow.
Spoegwolf hail from Paarl and deliver alternative rock in Afrikaans, with melodies built on direct guitars, keyboards and an occasional folk tint. The band shifts effortlessly from dreamy passages to darker indie tension, and some songs make room for a half‑spoken or rapped cadence. Their set weaves old and new material together, from the early years around Swaartekrag to later work such as Droombrief and Dryf, supplemented by recent EPs. Central to their performance is a collective energy and a sense of language that gives their songs a distinct, instantly recognizable cadence.
Jack Parow, born Zander Tyler, employs Afrikaans for rap that remains sharp and dry. Best known for Cooler as Ekke, he balances in‑your‑face punchlines with a wink, backed by productions that blend hip‑hop, electro‑rap and a strong bass drive. His world is steeped in everyday observations and pop culture, with a sound that easily crosses into rock, pop and electronics. Live, it’s all about rhythm, direct flow and that characteristic South African flair that quickly brings the audience along.
