Info
On October 23, 2026 at The Park Theatre in Winnipeg, The East Pointers bring a lean mix of Maritime Celtic roots and contemporary folk. Formed on Prince Edward Island, the trio originally united cousins Koady and Tim Chaisson with guitarist Jake Charron around a sound built on fiddle, banjo and guitar, shifting easily between instrumental sets and songs. From Secret Victory (2015) and What We Leave Behind (2017) to Yours To Break (2019), the group has nudged its writing toward pop structures and subtle electronic textures without dropping the drive of reels and jigs.
Their lyrics draw on coastal life, family ties and everyday stories from Canada’s East Coast, keeping a plainspoken tone that fits their dance-grounded rhythms. Since the passing of Koady Chaisson in 2022, The East Pointers have reworked their lineup and continue to carry this hybrid repertoire on stage, teaming up at times with musicians from the Canadian roots and indie scene. Live, the set moves from tight instrumentals to melodic choruses, holding a steady pulse that links tradition and present-day songwriting.
