Fun Lovin' Criminals met orkest

Fun Lovin’ Criminals will play TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht on 17 September 2026 with a special orchestral show that highlights the band’s cinematic side. The New York trio has blended rap-rock with funk, soul, blues and jazz since the 1990s and broke through with "Scooby Snacks," notorious for its Tarantino samples. For this evening they’ll open up their catalogue with fan favourites, lesser-known tracks and new material, performed together with the DiFontaine Orchestra. The string and brass arrangements emphasise the soundtrack-like atmosphere and nocturnal city stories that run through their music.

Following Huey Morgan’s departure, Brian “Fast” Leiser now takes the microphone in addition to his duties on bass and keys, giving the live repertoire a different sonic colour. Expect a set that moves between laid-back grooves, angular riffs and playful hip-hop hooks, with the orchestration heightening the dramatic arc without losing the band’s raw energy. Between Come Find Yourself and more recent material, a continuous film-scene feel emerges: crime, humour, melancholy and urban swagger all in one breath, captured in a concert that makes their love of cinema clearly audible.
