Planet Funk

On 11 May 2026 Planet Funk will be at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Italian collective around Alex Neri, Marco Baroni, Sergio Della Monica, Domenico GG Canu and Alex Uhlmann moves between club culture, pop songwriting and a direct rock energy. Their breakthrough came with “Chase the Sun”; since then the group has been forging its own sound in which smooth electronics, heavy basslines and taut guitars come together. Vocal duties are often shared or entrusted to different voices — in the past including Dan Black and Sally Doherty — which gives each song a different shade.

Live, Planet Funk performs like a band with an electronic backbone: synths and drums propel the music forward while melodies and choruses remain clear. Tracks from Non Zero Sumness, The Illogical Consequence and The Great Shake form the core, supplemented by more recent material that continues their more direct course without losing sight of the song. A show that pairs the logic of the dancefloor with the playful energy of a live setup: compact, rhythmic and made for movement.
