Kelley Stoltz is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and DIY innovator. His career began in the late 1990s, when he started self-recording in his San Francisco home studio a brand of pop tinged with psychedelia and garage rock. Born in New York in 1971 and raised in Michigan, he has released a catalog of albums on labels such as Sub Pop, Third Man Records and Castle Face Records, often playing all the instruments himself and evoking the melodic sensibility of 1960s pop songwriters as well as the eccentricity of 1980s power-pop and new wave.

After the release of his 18th album, La Fleur, in 2024, he returned in 2026 with his 19th studio album, If You Don’t Know Me, Buy Now. This collection continues his exploration of psych-pop, introspective lyrics and textured arrangements that pay tribute to his influences while evolving his sound. Guests include Brigid Dawson of Osees, Karina Denike of Dance Hall Crashers, Pete Straus of Dwarves and Allyson Baker of Dirty Ghosts, who provide backing vocals on several tracks.

Stoltz has served as the rhythm guitarist for Echo & the Bunnymen and is the West Coast drummer for Robyn Hitchcock. He hosts a weekly show on KEXP dedicated to the San Francisco Bay Area music scene, titled Vinelands.
