Basstreuil : From Reggae To Bass Music

Following the Bac à Basse nights, Horus Prod and High Bass continue to build bridges between sound system culture and bass music.

The Basstreuil nights carry on in the same direction with a lineup from reggae to bass music amplified on a handcrafted sound system.

High Bass Sound System feat. Junior Roy

An activist of the sound system scene since 2006, High Bass Sound System has been behind several sessions in Paris in recent years alongside sounds and selectors such as Aba Shanti, Nick Manasseh and Jah Observer. Mixing new releases, collectors, dubplates and productions from their label and collective Upfull Posse, High Bass broadcasts a wide selection spanning sixty years of Jamaican music.

They will be joined for the occasion by singer Junior Roy, who regularly appears alongside OBF, BAT Records and Irie Ites. He will perform on the B‑sides in the sound system tradition: a handcrafted rig, records and a microphone.

Elisa Do Brasil

Born in Brasília in 1979, Elisa Do Brasil grew up in France from the age of two and discovered electronic music at the free parties of the 1990s. After joining the Troubles Fêtes sound system in 1998 and taking part in the Techno Parade, she moved toward jungle and drum and bass. She was a resident at the Rex Club in Paris for more than twenty years with her Massive nights. She will be present for the first Basstreuil with a selection adapted to the High Bass sound system.

Hydrant

Hydrant is a French drum and bass producer who belongs to the new wave of talent supported by the DNB France community. Low‑key but solid, he has built his reputation through collaborations and releases that reflect a sound rooted in deep bass and breakbeats crafted for the dancefloor. He is part of a generation of French producers beginning to attract attention beyond the country’s borders.
