On Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Sidestage, 700 Osborne Street, Winnipeg, Brujeria leads a night shared with Fetid Grave and Skunk. Formed in Los Angeles in 1989, Brujeria shapes a blunt mix of grindcore and death metal, delivered almost entirely in Spanish. The collective plays with masked identities and a rotating cast, drawing on imagery linked to Mexico and lyrics that tackle violence, religion, sexuality, immigration, drug trafficking and politics. Their 90s output set the tone with Matando Güeros (1993) and Raza Odiada (1995), followed by Brujerizmo (2000). After a long studio break, the band returned with Pocho Aztlan (2016) and Esto Es Brujeria (2023), doubling down on a compact, fast, direct deathgrind approach designed for the stage. Fetid Grave and Skunk round out the bill.
