Info
BlackHawk brings its Nashville-born country rock to The Palace Theatre in Calgary on July 1, 2026. Formed in the early 90s around singer-guitarist Henry Paul with songwriters Van Stephenson and Dave Robbins, the band shaped a sound built on three-part harmonies, intertwining acoustic and electric guitars, and melodies cut for storytelling. The self-titled debut in 1994 set the foundation, followed by Strong Enough (1995) and Love & Gravity (1997), albums that thread together personal tales, heartland images and radio-ready hooks.
After Stephenson’s passing in 2001, BlackHawk kept the course with a refreshed lineup, releasing Spirit Dancer (2002) and Brothers of the Southland (2014). On stage, the group leans into that balance between classic country phrasing and a southern rock edge carried by Henry Paul, also known for The Outlaws. The set draws across decades, from early standouts to later cuts, with stacked vocals upfront and guitars driving the pulse.
