Info
Angine de Poitrine plays The Mod Club in Toronto on July 14, 2026. The Quebec duo of Klek and Khn de Poitrine builds instrumental pieces at the crossroads of experimental rock, math rock and angular post-punk, with a repetitive logic close to certain strains of techno. Live, they stack and pare back short motifs, letting patterns shift and click until the groove edges sideways. Drums stay dry and precise, guitars and bass explore microtonal bends, and chromatic phrases thread through asymmetrical structures to keep a discreet tension. No vocals here: movement, variation and rhythmic displacement lead the way, in a music that’s tight, a little jagged, and built to keep bodies alert.
Formed in 2023, the project moved quickly with Vol. 1 in 2024 and a run of Quebec stages, including the Festival international de jazz de Montréal. On stage, their method is clear: riffs loop, then mutate; breaks reframe the pulse; climaxes arrive by accumulation rather than impact. The energy leans rock, the architecture leans minimal and evolving, and the result stays focused on momentum and detail—patterns in motion, tension held just enough to pull you forward.
