Info
On March 19, 2027, at the Athanor in Montluçon, Celtic Legends celebrates its 25th anniversary with a new show. The Irish company brings together dancers, musicians and singers to immerse audiences in the heart of traditional dance, ranging from meticulously precise percussive footwork and ensemble group numbers to solos that respond to the live music’s pulse. Conceived by Jacintha Sharpe, the choreographies are supported by music performed on stage by five musicians under the direction of Sean McCarthy.
Uilleann pipes, penny whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar create an acoustic sound that alternates between energetic reels and jigs, broader, more expansive ballads and melodic transitions. The whole performance remains entirely live, faithful to the spirit of Celtic Legends as it has been shaped on tour since the early 2000s. After touring the world and bringing more than three million spectators into its universe, the group returns with an anniversary production that emphasizes collective energy, the dialogue between stage and music, and the precision of an Irish repertoire presented without artifice. A stop on the tour that puts dance back at the centre and brings the tradition as close as possible to the audience.
