Info
On 24 November 2026 at La Gare du Midi in Biarritz, Hiba Tawaji invites Ibrahim Maalouf to an encounter where voice and trumpet converse between the East and jazz. The concert is conceived as a journey between Arabic repertoires and Francophone songs, led by two artists who share the same curiosity and a Lebanese grounding.
A singer and actress trained in Beirut and introduced to French audiences through The Voice and her role as Esmeralda in Notre-Dame de Paris, Hiba Tawaji cultivates a flexible register that blends Middle Eastern pop, classical orchestrations and jazz influences. On stage, her bright tone relies on arrangements that let the lyrics breathe, moving between ballads and more rhythm-driven numbers.
Facing her, Ibrahim Maalouf brings the colour of his quarter-tone trumpet, rooted in both classical and popular traditions. Accustomed to crossovers between jazz, film music and stage creations, he weaves melodic lines that open spaces for improvisation.
Together, they revisit Levantine themes, original compositions and a few French songs, in a format where melody is paramount and exchange guides the flow of the concert.
