Info
On March 17, 2027, KMFDM takes Petit Bain in Paris by storm. Born in Hamburg in 1984 around Sascha Konietzko, the project has forged a direct, punchy signature—between EBM rhythms, guitars edging toward industrial metal, electronic textures and the alternation of male and female vocals. Their motto, Ultra Heavy Beat, sums it up well: a tight, stage-ready sound laced with samples, irresistible hooks and lyrics that call out social and political tensions. From What Do You Know, Deutschland? to Nihil and Xtort, and through their more recent releases, the band has established a way of blending club and guitars without nostalgia, with a set that draws on several eras and plays on collective energy.
Opening the show, I Ya Toyah, a solo project from Chicago, navigates between electronic industrial, darkwave and synth-rock. Dense beats, dark pads and forward melodies structure tracks where the vocals lead, with introspective lyrics addressing isolation, mental health and the contradictions of everyday life. On stage, the setup is agile and geared toward efficiency: pulses cut for the dancefloor, slower passages when the music needs to breathe, and a sense of contrast that sets the mood before KMFDM takes the stage.
