Info
On April 9, 2026 at La Sirène in La Rochelle, Émile Sornin, aka Forever Pavot, returns as a trio to bring Melchior Vol. 1 to life on stage. He arrives with his new ally, the robot Melchior, and a bass-and-drums rhythm section anchored by Antoine Rault and Danny Kendrik. The setup is more electronic, minimal and tinged with krautrock, without abandoning literary collages, handcrafted sound effects and nods to French film scores (Sarde, Vannier, Colombier, de Roubaix). Between vocoder-tinged nonchalance and finely carved arrangements, his cinephile chamber pop stays the course: harmony, delicacy and sensitivity as a common thread. Forever Pavot will open the evening.
In the second part, Yin Yin extends the journey. From Maastricht, the quartet lines up drums (Kees Berkers), bass (Remy Scheren), guitar (Erik Bandt) and keyboards (Jérôme Scheren) for a groove that disrupts eras and dance-floor codes, blending Italian disco, Eastern psychedelia, Japanese soul-funk and Thai spaghetti-western. On record as in live performance, repetitive basslines, melodic guitars and synthetic textures establish a supple trance. From The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers (2019) to The Age of Aquarius (2022), then Mount Matsu (2024) and Yatta! (2026), the band has been refining a retrofuturistic sound crafted to get the room moving.
