The Fleshtones

On May 20, 2026, at Le 106 in Rouen, The Fleshtones bring their “Super Rock” built for the stage. Formed in New York in 1976 around Peter Zaremba and Keith Streng, the band forged a garage‑rock sound fueled by rhythm and blues, surf and power pop—taut vocals, cutting guitars and a prominent organ. Emerging from the effervescence of CBGB and Max’s Kansas City, they first drew attention with Roman Gods (1982) and Hexbreaker! (1983), then kept releasing records without losing their straightforward approach: brisk tempos, simple backing vocals and punchy riffs.

The current lineup centers on Zaremba, Streng, Bill Milhizer and Ken Fox, a quartet seasoned by years of touring on both sides of the Atlantic. On stage, the set draws from every era, from Beautiful Light to Do You Swing?, and on to Wheel of Talent, The Band Drinks for Free and Face of the Screaming Werewolf. No detours here: a concentrated dose of old‑school rock, played tight, with that gritty New York edge the band has worn since the start. Rouen will be treated to a slice of living history, delivered without frills.
