On 28 June 2026 at Rock School Barbey in Bordeaux, shame presents Cutthroat, their fourth album on Dead Oceans. Emerging from the post‑punk revival of south London, the five‑piece combines angular guitars, a taut rhythm section and vocals that oscillate between spoken word and restrained screams, set to lyrics rooted in social observation. Produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen), Cutthroat pushes their sharpest edge: razor‑sharp riffs, nervous tempos and a touch of electronic influence driven by guitarist Sean Coyle‑Smith’s experiments. The new songs scrutinize contemporary hypocrisies and contradictions with direct, uncompromising writing.

Honed by intense tours across Europe and North America, shame play up close and without frills, in an almost live, in‑the‑moment group dynamic. The set is expected to alternate rhythmic breaks, tight, squared bass lines and tense guitars, drawing from Songs of Praise, Drunk Tank Pink and Food for Worms as much as from Cutthroat. It’s a return to venues for a band that prioritizes proximity, energy and material conceived for the stage.
