Zig Zags

On May 31, 2026, Zig Zags land at Dabadaba in Donostia / San Sebastián with their cut of heavy metal and punk wired for small-room intensity. Formed in Los Angeles in 2010 by guitarist and singer Jed Maheu, the trio has shaped a rough-edged “garage metal” sound that stitches speed, fuzz and street-level hooks. The current lineup pairs Maheu with Sean Hoffman on bass and Jeff Murray, formerly of The Shrine, on drums, a tight core built for riffs that hit hard and go straight to the point.

Across records for In The Red, Castle Face and Riding Easy, Zig Zags have recorded with Ty Segall, John Dwyer and Iggy Pop, and shared stages with Power Trip, High on Fire, Excel, Integrity, Fucked Up, Pentagram, Osees and Fuzz. Their latest release, Strange Masters, revisits key tracks from their catalogue, re-recorded and produced by John Dwyer of Osees, giving their staples a fresh, clipped punch. A new album dropped in fall 2024, sharpening the formula they kicked off more than a decade ago. On stage, the band keeps it lean and loud, stacking sharp changes, breakneck tempos and riffs that flip from skate-park thrash to basement pummel without losing the groove.
