On 14 April 2026, at Sala Villanos (Madrid), DEADLETTER arrives — a collective formed in London by a group of friends that places the word at the centre. Their music springs from writing and play with language, and the stage functions as a storytelling space rather than a mere performance. They come from the DIY practice: self-organization, independent circuits and artisanal distribution—an ethic they maintain even as they appear on British and European programmes.

Their compositional method favours fragmented narratives and repetitive motifs, where syntax carries as much weight as the images it evokes. Pieces are built as sequences: scansion, ruptures, accumulation of ideas, entries and cuts with a precise sense of tempo and phrasing. In concert they do not separate text and performance: they treat the show as a real-time edit, reordering, expanding or saturating pieces with interjections and digressions.

DEADLETTER prefers close contact, barrier-free formats that encourage direct interaction. A set meant to be heard up close, where each song can mutate, sharpen its rhythm and take on a different shape before the audience.
