Sigur Rós

On 9 September 2026 at L’Amphithéâtre 3000, Lyon hosts Sigur Rós for an evening with an expanded lineup. The Icelandic band presents ÁTTA alongside tracks that have marked its history, notably songs from Takk..., which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. For this sole date in France, they will be joined by the Orchestre de Chambre de Lyon, conducted by Robert Ames, continuing the orchestral approach adopted since 2023.

Since the return of keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson in 2022, Sigur Rós has been revisiting its repertoire with arrangements written for large concert halls and unveiling pieces that are more resolutely symphonic. In recent years the band also released Odin’s Raven Magic and a series of reissues, before refocusing its activity around ÁTTA.

On stage, layers of guitars, minimal rhythms and Jónsi’s falsetto converse with the orchestra’s strings and woodwinds. The set shifts their post‑rock to another scale, conceived for the size and acoustics of a symphonic hall, balancing broad sweep with attention to detail.
