Calema

Calema, a fraternal duo formed by António and Fradique Mendes Ferreira, proudly represents an Afro‑Lusophone pop sung in Portuguese. Born in São Tomé and Príncipe and raised between Portugal and France, they blend afrobeat, pop and traditional influences, with songwriting that speaks of movement and emotion. Their name, borrowed from the Atlantic waves, says much about this musicality in transit — between African warmth, the melancholy of fado and pop energy. They are responsible for "Te Amo", which became a classic on Lusophone airwaves, and "Voyage", an album released in 2024 that marks 15 years of their career and brings together Afro, Latin and pop sonorities.

On 14 November 2026 at the Rockhal in Esch‑sur‑Alzette (Luxembourg), Calema unfolds on stage this mix of contemporary rhythms and inherited influences, with complementary voices at the forefront and choruses carried by supple grooves. With light electronic touches, hues close to kizomba and pop pulsations, the duo lines up its signature hits alongside tracks from "Voyage". A live show in Portuguese that naturally crosses borders and leaves room for emotion, without losing the dancing momentum that has become their hallmark.
