Info
On October 10, 2026, Beta2300 in Copenhagen hosts The Bones of J.R. Jones, the solo project of American musician Jonathon Linaberry. Raised in upstate New York and based in the Catskills, he draws on rural blues, folk and Americana, often in a one-man band setup where voice, guitar, banjo and minimal percussion lead the way. His debut Dark Was the Yearling (2014) introduced writing shaped by the road, the outdoors and introspective themes, followed by Spirit’s Furnace (2016) and Ones To Keep Close (2018). Slow Lightning (2023), recorded between city and country, folds a measured electric edge into more intimate arrangements. On stage, The Bones of J.R. Jones moves between foot-driven grooves and stripped ballads, building rhythmic patterns and textures live while keeping the songs at the center. The set draws across his catalogue, connecting folk-blues roots with a contemporary touch.
