Drug Church

Drug Church will play on 15 September 2026 at the Frannz Club in Berlin. The band from Albany, New York, has been blending punk-hardcore, post-hardcore and alternative rock since the early 2010s, paired with frontman Patrick Kindlon’s dry, spoken-sung delivery. Dense guitars, heavy grooves and direct melodies meet lyrics about everyday frustration and social dynamics. This framework was established with Paul Walker (2013) and Hit Your Head (2015), continued through the EP pair Swell and Tawny, and melodically refined with Cheer (2018) and Hygiene (2022). The move to Pure Noise Records accompanied this evolution without smoothing out the energy of hardcore.

Live, Drug Church concentrates these poles: compact arrangements, riffs with an edge, hooks that go straight to the point. The set swings between the rougher early tracks and the more accessible songs from the newer records, moving naturally between punk, emo and guitar-driven rock. Song-oriented rather than showy, propelled by a powerful rhythm section and vocals that push rather than ornament.
