Thylacine

On October 18, 2026, Thylacine brings his live set to MTELUS in Montreal. Under this alias, French musician William Rezé sculpts melodic techno shaded by ambient and downtempo, with a saxophonist’s ear for harmony running through it. Repetitive loops, slow builds and airy textures shape the performance, designed for immersion rather than big drops, letting details surface and recede at their own pace.

His writing on the move feeds the music: the Trans-Siberian railway for his early work, the open itineraries of Roads Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, then Timeless, where he reinterprets Debussy, Satie and Beethoven in a stripped-back electronic language. On stage, these threads converge in a set that pairs sound with images filmed along his journeys. The show moves from hypnotic pulses to more contemplative passages, melodic motifs acting like waypoints across the set, and a visual layer that anchors the travel diary at the heart of his approach.
