The Hillbilly Moonshiners

The Hillbilly Moonshiners have been putting rock and pop classics through a contemporary bluegrass filter since 2014. The Dutch six-piece trades electric riffs for banjo, mandolin, fiddle and multi-part harmonies, and treats songs by Blink-182, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson or AC/DC just as readily as recent hits by Taylor Swift, Beyoncé or Drake. Acoustic arrangements with a Southern twang, tight harmonies and a groove that leans toward Americana: it’s all about songs that stick with you, with rhythms that grab you instantly.

Born on pub and festival stages at home and now having toured much of Europe, The Hillbilly Moonshiners deliver a set full of clever reworkings, from radio classics to fresh chart tracks. On 19 December 2026 they play Patronaat, Haarlem. Expect compact, playful versions in which melodies remain clear, the dynamics are cranked up, and there’s room for harmonies and small instrumental flourishes. Not a mere dress-up act, but a fresh shift of pop repertoire into the codes of folk and bluegrass, carried by the tempo and timbre of a tight live band.
