Info
Rooted in Louisiana’s blues circuit, D.K. Harrell brings an electric blues sound shaded with soul and rhythm and blues. On August 6, 2026 at the Hollywood Theatre in Vancouver, he leads a set built on melodic guitar lines, space, and a warm, conversational voice, favouring slow and mid-tempo grooves and lyrics grounded in everyday life. Influenced by B.B. King and the 50s–60s school, he keeps the focus on phrasing, bends and vibrato, letting melody steer the dynamics instead of sheer volume.
His debut album The Right Man (2023, Little Village Foundation), recorded in California with guitarist-producer Kid Andersen, sketched his range across tender ballads, electric shuffles and soul-leaning cuts. On stage he extends that palette, mixing personal originals with reworked covers that underline his sense of storytelling. Touring has tightened his writing and band interplay; here, the emphasis stays on feel, clarity and the dialogue between guitar and voice, with songs that take their time and leave room to breathe.
