Shirma Rouse « Soul in the Park - The Reggae Edition »

Shirma Rouse will present Soul in the Park – The Reggae Edition on 3 July 2026 at Caprera in Bloemendaal. The Curaçao-born, Netherlands-rooted singer moves between soul and gospel, with R&B and jazz hues, and brings that mix to an evening that puts the focus on reggae. Since beginning her career as a backing vocalist and with the album Chocolate Coated Dreams, she has built a stage repertoire of original songs, reinterpretations and themed shows, from her tribute to Aretha Franklin to The Gospel Sessions. For this edition she places her Caribbean heritage at the center: riddims that breathe, basslines that anchor, close harmonies and room for improvisation. With her band she gives reggae classics and favorites from her catalog new arrangements without losing the heart of the songs. Soul, rocksteady influences and gospel-choir energy intersect in a set built around groove and voice, with Shirma’s timbre as the guiding thread and an atmosphere that invites the audience to move along.
