On 5 October 2026 Europe will play at Musis Arnhem. The Swedish band, centered on vocalist Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum, brought melodic hard rock to a wide audience in the 1980s. The Final Countdown from 1986 yielded a worldwide hit, with a mix of soaring vocal lines, distinctive synth hooks and sharp riffs. Carrie and Rock the Night have since become part of their regular repertoire, while Wings of Tomorrow had earlier laid the groundwork.

In the 1990s and afterwards the band moved toward a rawer, more bluesy approach. After their return in 2004, albums such as Start from the Dark and War of Kings followed, where the playing grew harder and the songs assumed a darker tone without losing their melodic DNA. Live, Europe places those trajectories side by side: classics alongside more recent material; Norum’s guitar and the keyboards bridge the old and new signatures, and Tempest keeps everything tight with a voice that can still soar. A show that traces the long arc of their catalogue—not by merely copying nostalgia, but by performing the songs as they stand today.
