On 29 November 2026 She Past Away will play at Patronaat in Haarlem. The duo from Bursa (Turkey) has been skirting the edges of cold wave, dark wave and post-punk since the late 2000s, with lyrics in Turkish. Singer/guitarist Volkan Caner and producer Doruk Öztürkcan build their songs around chilly, reverb-drenched guitars, tight drum machines and repetitive basslines, with Caner’s low, detached vocals setting the tone. With the EP Kasvetli Kutlama (2010) and debut album Belirdi Gece (2012) the band immediately found a place in the European goth and post-punk circuits; Narin Yalnızlık (2015) continued that trajectory with even sharper contours, while Disko Anksiyete (2019) added more momentum and synth-pop influences without letting go of the bleak consistency. The remix record X (2020) showcased their international network within the dark wave scene. Live, She Past Away play compactly and with purpose: angular rhythms, spare melodies and a pulse you feel more than hear. At Patronaat you can expect a set that traverses their three albums, featuring early favourites and more recent tracks that clearly foreground the project’s danceable, melancholic tension.
