Ilse DeLange

Ilse DeLange will perform on 29 August 2026 at Caprera, Bloemendaal. Since the late 1990s the singer from Almelo has been carving out her own path between Nashville country, pop and folk. Her debut World of Hurt (1998), recorded in Nashville, set the tone: melodic songs, guitar work up front and plenty of space for her voice. That was followed by, among others, Dear John, the more pop‑rock-tinged Livin’ on Love, Clean Up, The Great Escape and Incredible, and later Eye of the Hurricane. In 2019 she returned to a more stripped-back Americana aesthetic with Gravel & Dust, after which Changes (2020) again brought her pop sensibility to the fore. Alongside her solo career she co-founded The Common Linnets with Waylon, further deepening her country‑folk signature.

On stage Ilse blends those lines effortlessly: intimate ballads alongside more direct roots and pop tracks, clear arrangements that place the vocals at the center, and a sound that stays close to each song. In Caprera, songs from different phases of her career may surface, from the early Nashville years to more recent work like Gravel & Dust and Changes. An evening for her characteristic mix of country, pop and folk to simply speak for itself, without detours.
