Frànçois and the Atlas Mountains

Led by French singer-songwriter François Marry, Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains will be on stage on 11 June 2026 at L’Entrepôt (Le Haillan). Formed in Bristol in the mid-2000s, the band moves along a clear trajectory: a hybrid pop that crosses British indie, the heritage of chanson, and African influences, with lyrics in French and English. On stage, the group stays mobile and values subtlety, between delicate guitars, supple percussion, discreet keyboards and vocals that slip from one language to another.

The set freely draws from Plaine Inondable, E Volo Love and Piano Ombre, then from Solide Mirage and Banane Bleue, offering a programme that alternates danceable pulses and more intimate passages. Arrangements are light or minimalist depending on the tracks, leaving room for the melodies and lilting rhythms. Between France and the United Kingdom, Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains pursues this bilingual, travel-minded thread, shaped by years on the independent scene and by collaborations, including a stint with Camera Obscura. An encounter with open, fluid and unpretentious pop.
