Jay Electronica

Jay Electronica lands in Toronto on March 11, 2026 at Phoenix Concert Theatre. Born in New Orleans, the rapper built a singular lane with dense, spiritual and often esoteric lyrics laid over minimalist productions steeped in soul and jazz. He first drew attention with the conceptual Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) in 2007, a long-form narrative suite that set the tone for his approach. Exhibit A (Transformations) and Exhibit C in 2009 cemented his taste for boom bap textures, autobiographical detail, clear diction and a web of religious and historical references.

Signed to Roc Nation in 2010, he has since moved between select collaborations and carefully paced releases. His official debut A Written Testimony arrived in 2020, structured as a running conversation with Jay-Z, while that same year finally brought the long-anticipated Act II: The Patents of Nobility (The Turn).
