On July 5, 2026, Kaleo brings the Way Down We Go Tour to Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Formed near Reykjavik in 2012, the Icelandic band led by singer-guitarist Jökull “JJ Julius Son” Júlíusson blends blues rock, folk and alternative rock. Between electric riffs and stripped acoustic passages, the show plays with quiet-loud contrasts and a clear focus on JJ’s voice. After an Iceland-only debut, the group relocated to the U.S., widened its palette, and reached a broader audience with A/B in 2016. Surface Sounds (2021) introduced more atmospheric colors while keeping the band’s rock and roots foundation. On stage, Kaleo moves between English and Icelandic titles and has built its live presence across Europe and North America.

Also on the bill, Vincent Lima — Chicago-born, New Jersey-raised, now based in Nashville — pushes a narrative style of songwriting. A self-taught pianist with folk at the core, he draws on 70s references like Jackson Browne and Cat Stevens, and on contemporary artists such as Hozier and Dermot Kennedy. His tracks mix an intimate folk base, a slightly bluesy grain of voice and cinematic arrangements where lyrics lead the way. After shows across the U.S. and shared bills with Kaleo, Darren Kiely and Jonah Kagen, he released the 2024 EP Versions of Uncertainty around the Orpheus myth, followed by the full-length To Love A Thing That Fades, a 15-track arc on loss, closeness and holding on.
