Info
On 23 June 2026 at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, British and American hard rock meet: Def Leppard and Extreme share the bill.
Def Leppard, who began in Sheffield in the late 1970s, evolved their sound from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal into melodic hard rock characterised by striking choruses and densely layered guitars. Joe Elliott’s vocals, the riffs of Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell, and Rick Allen’s distinctive drumming shape arrangements that combine studio polish with live energy. Their repertoire, stretching from Pyromania and Hysteria to Diamond Star Halos, alternates on stage between driving numbers and expansive hooks while never losing the band’s unmistakable signature.
Boston’s Extreme bring a blend of hard rock, funk grooves and acoustic interludes. Gary Cherone’s singing relies on tight harmonies, while Nuno Bettencourt’s guitar work moves between percussive attack, intricate runs and restrained melodicism. From Pornograffitti through III Sides to Every Story to the current Six, the quartet delivers contrasts: dry riffs, punchy choruses and songs that play with dynamics and rhythm. Two perspectives on rock that evening will interact productively.
